RULES & REGULATIONS
Participation in the competition indicates full acceptance of the conditions below:
PRE-SELECTION
Candidates will be shortlisted through blind-listening of submitted recordings. This process is audited independently, and the decision of the jury is final. The video dimension is used only to verify authenticity.
REPERTOIRE
All competition pieces must be played from memory (including pre-selection repertoire)—with the exception of sonatas with piano and the commissioned work.
Repeats are left to the choice of the candidates, with consideration for stylistic norms and programme duration.
Candidates must submit their repertoires by the date stipulated in the official invitation, after which, no changes may be made unless required by the Artistic Committee.
TRAVEL AND ACCOMMODATION
Each candidate will be provided with an airfare subsidy of SGD 500, and accommodation for as long as the candidate is still competing.
REPORTING DATE
Candidates must report to the competition office by the date stipulated in the official invitation. Failure to do so will result in disqualification from the competition.
ORDER OF APPEARANCE
A ballot process on the reporting date will determine the candidates’ order of appearance. This order will apply for all rounds of the competition.
ACCOMPANISTS
Each candidate will be provided with an accompanist at no cost for two rehearsals. Any additional rehearsal will be at the candidate’s own expense.
A candidate may bring his/her own accompanist at his/her own expense.
SCORES
Candidates are required to have with them original scores for all works, and must be prepared also to supply full scores for the organiser and accompanist for all works up until the semi-final round.
BROADCASTING
The organiser reserves the right to live-stream, broadcast, record, televise, film, and publicise all competition performances.
